Betta Channoides (Snakehead Betta) MALE

The Betta Channoide males will present a deep red coloration as well as blue/white fin tips while showing off for females, these Bettas are mouth brooders, meaning after spawning the male will hold the eggs and hatch the fry inside of his mouth until they are large enough to swim and eat on their own! They are also known as "snakehead bettas" due to their body shape and colors. The Betta Channoides are a great introduction into wild bettas, incredibly peaceful, even being able to house males and females together if provided at least 10 gallons per pair! Tannins are also enjoyed, be sure to provide them with Indian almond leaves, alder cones, or any type of botanical that will tan their water and provide a natural environment!
