What To Do Before Your Female Betta(s) Arrive!

We Breed All Of Our Bettas In Home!

  • Sorority tanks are recommended for intermediate to advanced fish keepers only as they require a watchful eye for the first few months of running. Bare MINIMUM tank size for a sorority is 20 gallons LONG with a group of at least 5 females to evenly spread any aggression that may occur, you must also provide them with plenty of hiding spots!! DO NOT ADD MALE BETTAS TO YOUR SORORITY!

  • Make sure your tank is fully cycled! We know it's hard to be patient, but it is best for your fish's health that you wait for your cycle to complete before purchasing!

  • Bettas require a tank size minimum of 3-5 gallons for long-finned varieties and 10 or more for short-finned varieties, they are incredibly intelligent and curious creatures will utilize this extra space all day hunting for food and exploring!

  • It is recommended that you only use silk or live plants for your betta fish, their fins are very delicate and can tear on abrasive, sharp objects. To test if something is too sharp for your betta's fins, use pantyhose and rub them against the object you are looking to add: if it snags, its likely not suitable for a betta and must be filed down until smooth or replaced!

  • Bettas are a tropical fish, keep them in heated water of 80-82 degrees F (26-27 degrees C)
